Original works by Rebecca Clitheroe. These works form part of Rebecca’s ‘Hidden Histories’ collection. Rebecca uses pastel and pencil crayon layered over imagery and historical research to create unique illustrations that reveal the story behind Britain’s iconic landmarks.

As the layers of pastel and pencil crayon are applied, the Hidden Histories gradually become concealed, encouraging the viewer to look deeper into the picture and cross-reference their own findings. This unique quality adds a new depth to the illustration, one that has proved popular with my customers and followers from the outset.

To understand more about how she builds up and ‘builds in’ historical references to depict a story, view “Hidden Histories: The Royal Albert Hall” here.
